The difference between washi tape and masking tape

As we all know, there are many types of tapes, the more common ones include transparent tape, high temperature tape, electrostatic tape, electrical tape, Japanese tape, masking tape...etc. Among them, washi tape and masking tape are similar, so many friends cannot tell the difference between the two. So what is the difference between washi tape and masking tape?

Washi tape:
Compared with ordinary tapes, it uses Japanese paper as the base material and the surface is changed to paper. The paper is soft and suitable for covering sports equipment, rubber and plastic parts, construction sites, indoor and outdoor decoration, decoration spraying and painting. However, since the stickiness is not strong, there will never be any adhesive residue after tearing it off.

Masking tape:
Masking tape is a roll-shaped adhesive tape made of masking paper and pressure-sensitive glue as the main raw materials. The masking paper is coated with pressure-sensitive adhesive and the other side is coated with anti-stick material. It has moderate viscosity, has good adhesion and covering properties to most smooth surfaces, and plays a convenient, fast and beautiful role in various high-end places or home decorations.

The difference between the two:

Washi tape:
1. Washi tape can withstand the effects of washi water, dimethylbenzene, tenna water, etc. Washi tape can prevent degumming and discoloration, and the base material paper is soft.

2. Its temperature resistance can reach 110°.

3. Washi tape comes in various colors, and its main base material is Japanese paper.

4. It has moderate viscosity and has good adhesion and covering properties on most smooth surfaces, bends or corners. It has good workability and can be quickly removed after use without leaving any residual glue.

Masking tape:
1. Masking tape is generally used for masking and protection in spray painting, baking paint, leather, shoemaking, electronic industries, etc., and is generally torn off after use.

2. The base material of masking tape is masking paper and pressure-sensitive glue.

3. It has high bonding ability and resistance to chemical solvents.

4. It plays a very good role in various positioning and packaging, has good protective properties for adherends, and has good covering and protection.
